Frequently Asked Questions
How much does SegmentStream cost?+
SegmentStream starts at $800 a month and doesn't offer a free trial. Admetrics starts at $399 a month and begins with a free data audit and a trial on your own data. The bigger question is what each price buys: SegmentStream prices a measurement layer for paid media, while Admetrics prices attribution plus the ecommerce BI on top of it — profit analytics, LTV cohorts, product and return reporting — which for most stores is otherwise a second subscription and a second implementation.
Does SegmentStream track profit, or only ROAS?+
ROAS and CPA are the decision metrics, and there's no POAS in the platform. COGS, shipping, payment fees and returns never enter the model, so contribution margin and P&L aren't there either. Margin can be piped in from your warehouse if your team is willing to build and maintain that math. Admetrics calculates POAS down to the SKU — net of COGS, shipping, fees and returns — and carries it up to EBITDA on your own cost data, refreshed intraday.
How many attribution models does SegmentStream have?+
Four: first click, last click, multi-touch and its own Visit Scoring model, each tunable by attribution window and traffic rules. Linear and time-decay aren't among them, and the journey view refreshes on a daily batch rather than in real time. Admetrics ships nine models out of the box plus custom credit rules, so the split you report to the board is one you defined rather than one you inherited.
Does SegmentStream offer marketing mix modeling?+
Not in the usual sense. SegmentStream sizes channels with diminishing-returns curves and geo holdout tests, which works well for media it can click-track and leaves TV, print, retail and other no-click spend outside the model — a point one of its own G2 reviewers makes, noting the approach is strongest where there's a site visit to score. PRISMA is a machine-learning MMM that includes offline and upper-funnel channels, and the Allocator converts the output into a cross-platform budget move rather than a chart.
Is Admetrics a good SegmentStream alternative?+
For ecommerce and DTC teams, yes. SegmentStream is a capable paid-media measurement platform — a BigQuery dataset underneath, deep ad, analytics and CRM connectors, and a hosted MCP with 60+ tools. What it doesn't do is the store: commerce connectors stop at Shopify and Stripe, reports carry no SKU dimension, there's no new-versus-returning split, no identity matching across shops or marketplaces, no cohort or payback view, and no returns report. Admetrics covers all of it inside the platform the attribution already runs in.
What do SegmentStream reviews say?+
SegmentStream holds 4.7 on G2 across 26 reviews, and the praise is consistent about two things: the account team responds quickly, and upper-funnel channels finally get credited. The complaints are just as consistent. Reviewers describe a model that's hard to explain to non-technical stakeholders, an interface that loads slowly, limited flexibility in filtering and reporting, and a lag before data is usable — one reviewer waits up to 48 hours for new conversions to reach the model, another asks outright for real-time data.
Can I migrate from SegmentStream to Admetrics?+
Yes, and setup runs about 15 minutes with no developer, across 40+ native integrations. Your ad platforms, Shopify, Amazon and your email and SMS stack all reconnect; what changes is that COGS, shipping, fees and returns join the model, so profit gets calculated below the ROAS line. A free data audit and trial come first, so you can compare both on your own numbers. Most teams run them side by side for two weeks and watch where the conversion counts — and the campaigns that look like winners — start to diverge.
